The clock is ticking for residents to voice their opinions on Hamilton Town Centre, with the deadline set for this evening.

The consultation is not just for locals - it is open to everyone who uses the town centre including businesses, students and visitors.

So far, more than 1,300 people have responded to the consultation, the bulk of whom are residents of Hamilton.

Once complete, the consultation will inform a report into the town centre and feed into South Lanarkshire Council’s masterplan for the area.

Organised by Lanark and Hamilton East MP Angela Crawley, the consultation gives everyone the opportunity to have their say and help shape the vision for the future of Hamilton Town Centre.

She said: "“It is vital that as many people as possible take part in the consultation to shape the vision for Hamilton Town Centre so that the final report is the best that it can be.

“We’ve had a fantastic response so far as more than 1,300 people have completed the survey.

"A wide variety of people have come forward to make their views known but there is still time for anyone else with an interest in Hamilton Town Centre to add their thoughts.

“What would you like to happen in Hamilton? If you have any ideas of what our town centre could be, big or small, now is your opportunity.

“Time is running out and I would urge everyone, whether you are a business owner, resident, student or just visiting, to take part as we help to shape the vision for our town centre.”
