A Hamilton man has run 124 kilometres to raise money for the British Red Cross as the charity continues to help people in Ukraine.

After watching Russia's invasion on the news, James Frame decided he wanted to do something to help after meeting people in Kyiv during a work trip last year.

He told Clyde 1: "I was a bag of emotions when I got to the finish line.

"There was relief because it was done and also a bit of joy because I was able to help people in Ukraine.

"However, I also felt guilty that my challenge is now over."

James did 31 kilometres a week for a month - that's 1 kilometre for every year Ukraine has been an independent country.

The 38-year-old has raised £3000 since he started his challenge at the beginning of the month.

He added: "It has been very tough, particularly during the last week when I was getting those final kilometres in.

"The cause and the support of everyone is what has kept me going.

"All the running has been hard on my legs, I have quite a few aches and pains.

"I will need quite a bit of recovery time over the coming days and weeks."
