A delivery driver's been robbed outside a supermarket in Hamilton.

The 31 year-old employee was at the back of the Co-op on Mill Road around 5.45pm on Wednesday when he was approached by another man who threatened him with a weapon and stole his keys.

He's described as between 20 and 25, around 5ft7 in height, with a white skip cap and a tartan scarf covering his face.

He was wearing a dark tracksuit and is of slim build.

The suspect then ran off in the direction of Strathaven Road.

Detective Sergeant Martin McKendrick from Cambuslang CID said: “Thankfully the delivery driver was not hurt during this incident but this was nonetheless a terrifying ordeal for him and it is imperative that we trace the callous individual responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who was shopping in the Coop store, or who was in the surrounding area around the time of the incident and may have noticed a man matching the above description, to please come forward.
