Guns seized in Paisley raids

Police, Fire and Customs officers were involved in the operation

Two men have been arrested after raids were carried out as part of an investigation into a number of offences including fuel fraud and tax evasion.

Three domestic and one industrial premises in Paisley were searched on Wednesday in an operation led by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) with Police Scotland and the fire service.

The probe involved a number of suspected offences, including theft, fuel fraud and tax evasion, breaches of National Minimum Wage and fire safety legislation, HMRC said.

A 32-year-old and 42-year-old were arrested in connection with the investigation. Officers also seized luxury vehicles, business records, IT equipment and firearms.

Inquiries are continuing and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
