A security guard has been robbed outside a bank in Glasgow.
The 52 year old G4S worker was outside the Bank of Scotland on Smithycroft Road in Riddrie, when he was approached by a man wearing dark clothing and a balaclava.
The man threatened him with a knife before robbing him of a money cassette containing a five-figure sum of money.
The man then got into the passenger seat of a dark coloured Audi A4 which made off from the scene, heading south towards Riddrie Knowes.
The vehicle was found burnt out a short time later nearby in Riddrie Crescent.
Detective Sergeant Neil Guy of the Community Investigation Unit at Helen Street Police Office is appealing for information.
He said: "This was a very traumatic experience for the security guard who was just carrying out his daily job. Luckily he was not physically injured but nevertheless it has left him very shaken up.
"Enquiries are at an early stage and we are appealing for any information that will help us trace the men responsible for this robbery as soon as possible.
"In particular we would ask any motorists with dashcams who were in the area around the time of the incident to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance to our enquiries.
"At this time we are not linking this robbery to a similar robberies in the east end of Glasgow recently, however we cannot rule anything out at this early stage."
