Man who died after being found injured in Greenock car park is named locally

A man found injured in a car park in Greenock on New Year’s Day has died in hospital.

Emergency services were called to Ann Street at around 10 to 4 on Sunday, and the 22-year-old was rushed to Inverclyde Royal where police say he died a short time later.

He's been named locally as Adam Anderson.

Police say his family has been informed, and an investigation into his death is underway.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We were made aware of a 22-year-old man who found injured at a car park off Ann Street in Greenock around 3.50pm on Sunday, 2 January.

“The man was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital but died a short time later.

“His next of kin are aware.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
