The great Scottish Run is coming back to Glasgow for 2019!

Runners of all abilities have 6 months to get themselves ready for one of five races across 28 and 29th of September.

The Toddler Dash, Junior Run, Family Mile will take place on Saturday, followed by the 10k and half marathon on Sunday.

Starting in Glasgow's George Square, crowds will line the streets and watch an expected 30,000 people follow the route through the heart of the city before being cheered over the finish line at Glasgow Green.

Alex Jackson from organisers The Great Run Company, said: "This year, The Great Scottish Run is keen to get runners of all ages and abilities to be their greatest as they tackle our iconic routes in what is Scotland’s biggest weekend of running.

"Every year Glasgow is transformed into a mecca for the serious and not so serious runners and we can’t wait to once again welcome previous participants and those keen to take on a new challenge for 2019.”

Philip Grant, Chair of the Scottish Executive Committee, Lloyds Banking Group, said: "Bank of Scotland is now in its 11th year of partnering with the Great Scottish Run. The annual running event continues to go from strength to strength - not only bringing together more than thirty thousand keen runners of all ages from across Scotland and beyond, but raising millions of pounds for worthy causes in the process.

"For the third year in a row, Bank of Scotland colleagues will be training and taking part in the event to raise money for our charity partner Mental Health UK. This year funds will support a programme which will equip young people with the skills and knowledge to protect their mental health now and for future challenges. We are urging everyone, no matter their ability, to lace up their trainers and sign up to one of the many fantastic events taking place across the 28th and 29th of September."
