Police divers are carrying out a search of the River Clyde in connection with a missing man from Renfrew.

54-year-old Graham Clark, from Moorpark, was last seen by his mum at her home in Knightswood around 6am on Tuesday 9 January.

Less than half an hour later, police were called to a report of Mr Clark's car – a green Mazda – found abandoned on the southbound carriageway of the Kingston Bridge in Glasgow city centre.

Mr Clark is described as white, around 6ft in height and of medium build with light brown hair and wearing glasses.

Chief Inspector Simon Wright said: “My officers are currently investigating Graham's disappearance and one line of enquiry is that he has fallen into the water after stopping his vehicle on the Kingston Bridge, and a full search of the water is being carried out by police divers with assistance from our partners.

“At this time I would urge any motorists who may have seen either Mr Clark or his car stopping on the Kingston Bridge around 0620 hours on Tuesday 9 January 2018 to contact Johnstone Police through 101.”
