A man's died in Inverclyde after suffering serious injuries in the early hours of this morning

Police rushed to Gourock's Steel Street just before 4am - but the man was pronounced dead at the scene

A major probe is underway

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.45am on Sunday, 13 July, 2025, we received a report of a man injured in Steel Street, Gourock.

"Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.

"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
