FATHERSON

! The LaFontaines are the most exciting force in music since a bunch of guys in caves figured out that rhythmically banging on stuff and dancing about was fun. The quintet - Kerr Okan, John Gerard, Darren McCaughey, Jamie Keenan and Iain Findlay - grew up in the gritty reality of contemporary smalltown Scotland but they are about to shake up the music industry and the whole social structure of the UK with their quite astonishing debut album, ‘Class’. A diverse array of musical influences is mixed and melded together to produce a sound that is characteristically, unmistakably theirs. Rock, Hip-Hop, Pop, Drum and Bass.. pretty much everything but country, swirling around the Fonts music machine and emerging as an entirely new beast with a bad attitude, a strong Scottish accent and a healthy dose of rage. The LaFontaines play their biggest headline show to date at Glasgow Barrowland on 7th November. Tickets from www.gigsinscotland.com

The XCERTS

! November Lights are a Glasgow five piece led by singer songwriter James Hopkins. Harnessing bold, pop ambition with song craft that belies their age, the band achieves a sound that's unusual for their West of Scotland roots - bleeding American pop influences such as One Republic and John Mayer with indie rock favourites like Kodaline, The 1975 and Ben Folds Five. The musicians continue to capture the attention of audiences across Glasgow supporting the likes of Walking on Cars and Bwani Junction as well as playing their own show at the O2 ABC2. Upcoming shows throughout 2015 will further showcase them as contenders as Glasgow’s next big thing

! Fatherson are a band based in Glasgow and formed in Kilmarnock. They have been making waves in the Scottish music scene following a string of supports with bands such as Frightened Rabbit, Panic! at the Disco, Feeder, Twin Atlantic and Idlewild. In 2014, the band released their debut album I Am An Island through a record label set up by their management. The band and label worked together to independently finance and release the record without the standard record company structure. The release was a success and went to No.11 in the Scottish Album Chart, Top 40 UK Indie charts and peaked at No.5 on the iTunes alternative chart. The boys are currently finishing their second album whch will be released through Easy Life Records/Sony Music UK

THE LAFONTAINES

! THE XCERTS released their third album ‘There Is Only You’ in November 2014. The record marked the next step for a band which began when Murray Macleod and Jordan Smith met in their headmaster’s study age 13, and who, since Tom Heron joined on drums when the pair moved to Brighton, have been crafting a discography designed to last much longer than they will. Their debut ‘In The Cold Wind We Smile’ set the bar high. Following the release of sophomore album ‘Scatterbrain’ (DIY’s ‘Album of the Year’), The Xcerts toured relentlessly for three years, juggling European and UK headline tours, performances at CMJ and SXSW, and support tours with Biffy Clyro, Brand New, Manchester Orchestra, Frank Turner, Twin Atlantic, Taking Back Sunday and many more.
