Glasgow Uber drivers warn they're losing hundreds of pounds a week
They say they are not seeing any profits from surge pricing.
Uber drivers in Glasgow are warning they're losing hundreds of pounds every week and not getting a fair share of profits from surge pricing.
They've been protesting outside its office on Washington Street over concerns an electronic system offering fares to multiple drivers is putting safety at risk.
One driver told Clyde 1: "Uber is regularly deactivating our accounts when customers make a complaint without any good reason.
"I had one customer order an XL for an airport run who then complained because I think they thought I drove a van.
"I couldn't work for three days which meant I then had to work longer hours to make that money back."
Making less
A survey taken by members of GMB Scotland suggests only 1 in 5 drivers are making more money than a year ago.
Colin Dodds from the union said: "Insurance costs are increasing and our members feel as though they are being squeezed.
"These drivers love what they do but they are desperate."
We've asked Uber for a response.
