Power cuts and surges during the night are playing havoc with Glasgow's traffic lights.

Drivers have been calling Clyde 1 reporting they're not working at many junctions around the city and its suburbs.

The problems are spread across the city with notable junctions affected including:

  • St George's Cross
  • J2A of the M74 at Cambuslang
  • Paisley Road West / Crookston Road
  • Dumbarton Road at McNabs pub

Engineers alerted

A statement from Glasgow City Council's traffic control room said: "Due to mains electricity spikes/outages overnight there are numerous traffic signal failures across the city.

"Road users are asked to exercise caution in the city as we begin the process of attending these sites and restoring them to operational condition.
