The countdown's begun to the 70th Annual Glasgow Taxis Outing.

Two weeks today more than one hundred decorated black cabs will pass through the city streets taking kids with special education needs to the seaside.

Drivers give up a day for free to drive more than 300 youngsters with special education needs and their parents and carers to a fun day out in Troon.

Hundreds of well-wishers will assemble at the traditional starting point on Kelvin Way in the West End to wave off the colourfully decorated cabs, before they weave through Glasgow's city centre and southside before heading to Ayrshire.

Since the first trip in 1946, thousands of taxi drivers have donated their time and effort to make the famous event a success.
