Glasgow cabbies are telling us they feel forced out of the trade because of a lack of support during the pandemic.

Dozens of drivers are taking part in a go-slow protest later where they will move around the city centre to demand for more financial help from the Scottish Government.

The route will start at Springfield Quay at 2pm.

John Wallace is a private hire driver and has racked up over £8,000 in debt since coronavirus hit because of a lack of business.

He said: "The most difficult thing is just trying to make a wage.

"It is hard to make the job profitable enough to guarantee yourself a living.

"The roads are in such disarray that every time I go out for a shift I am running the risk of going through a pothole and that could cost me two weeks worth of wages to fix.

"I don't have spare money for that sort of thing."
