Glasgow Subway services reduced
Changes to services on the Glasgow Subway are coming into force today with the service closing down earlier.
The last trains will leave St Enoch station at 9pm on Mondays to Saturdays and trains will run at intervals of 8 minutes on both circles.
SPT says it will be continually reviewing services and is urging passengers not to use the system unless they are a key worker and their journeys are absolutely necessary.
In London there has been concern about scenes of crowding on tube trains where the service has been reduced but passngers are continuing to travel.
The Health Secretary at Westminster, Matt Hancock, called for service levels to be returned to normal during a media briefing in Downing Street.
“The best answer is that Transport for London should have the Tube running in full, so that the people travelling on the Tube are spaced out and can be further apart obeying the two metre rule wherever possible,” said Mr Hancock.
“There is there's no good reason in the information that I've seen that the current levels of Tube provision should be as low as they are.
"We should have more Tube trains running.”
