Schoolgirl taken to hospital after being hit by car in Glasgow's West End

A Glasgow schoolgirl has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car.

Emergency crews were called to Gibson Street in the West End around 1.30pm on Thursday.

The 12-year-old was taken by ambulance to the Royal Hospital for Children.

Police enquiries are continuing.

The road was re-opened at around 2.30pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said:

“Police received a report of a 12-year-old girl having been struck by a car on Gibson Street in Glasgow around 1.30pm on Thursday, March 24, 2022.

“The girl has been taken by ambulance to the Royal Hospital for Children.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and the road was re-opened around 2.30pm.”
