A Glasgow school’s been evacuated following reports of a ‘banging sound’ coming from the electricity substation outside.
Staff and pupils got to go home early from Shawlands Academy this morning after the school building suffered a power outage at around 10.20am.
Emergency services were called to investigate.
A council spokesperson told Clyde News: "Pupils at Shawland Academy have been sent home following a power cut.
“S4 to S6 pupils were able to go home immediately with any younger siblings. Parents of S1 to S3 pupils have been asked to collect their children as soon as possible, although the young people can remain in the school building for the time being.
“The school will open as normal on Monday."
