Laura Muir set a new British record for the 1,500m at the Anniversary Games in Glasgow last night, taking the title from Dame Kelly Homes.
The 23-year-old recorded a time of 3min 57.49 seconds to beat the time of 3min 57.90 seconds Holmes set in winning gold at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.

She’ll now use her summer break from studying veterinary medicine at the University of Glasgow to make the trip to Rio for the Olympic Games.
