Police have launched a manhunt after a woman was the victim of an horrific sex attack in Glasgow last night.

The 20-year-old was attacked and raped near Buchanan Bus Station just after midnight.

Police have sealed off the scene near a stairway as they search for clues that will lead them to the attacker.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.10am on Saturday, 24 August, 2024, we received a report of the serious sexual assault of a 20-year-old woman between North Hanover Street and St Mungo Avenue, Glasgow.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
