The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital is one of the safest buildings in the UK in terms of fire engineering, according to NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

They are responding to concerns that some of the insulation boards used to build it were also used on Grenfell Tower, which was engulfed in flames last month, killing at least 80 people.

The health board says Multiplex, the main contractor for the hospital construction, has assured them that the Kingspan Kooltherm K15 Insulation Boards were properly installed to meet Scotland’s stringent building and fire safety regulations.
