Glasgow pays tribute to NHS staff and carers

People across Glasgow and the west have paid tribute to NHS staff and carers working on the front line during the coronavirus pandemic.
At 8pm on Thursday, thousands of us stood on our doorsteps and went to our windows to cheer and applaud.
Firefighters at a station in Glasgow also switched on the lights and sirens on their appliances, in honour of their fellow emergency service workers.
The SSE Hydro was lit up blue to mark the occasion.
The Chief Executive of the NHS in Scotland reacted on Twitter, saying "Well that was incredible #ClapforNHS #ClapForCarers #NHSScotland #ThankYou #Emotional."
The moment was marked across the UK, with the Prime Minister and the Royal Family also joining in.
Boris Johnson tweeted a video of himself and Chancellor Rishi Sunak standing outside 10 Downing Street for their round of applause.
And Kensington Palace posted a clip of Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte, clapping at their home.
In a tweet, they said "To all the doctors, nurses, carers, GPs, pharmacists, volunteers and other NHS staff working tirelessly to help those affected by #COVID19: thank you".
It is thought the Queen also took part, with a video of Windsor Castle lit up to mark the moment shared on social media.
