Glasgow pair jailed after drugs found among Christmas gifts

Two men have been jailed for a total of nine and a half years after police seized £350,000 of class A drugs.

A judge heard how some of the drugs were found stashed among Christmas gifts.

Officers initially swooped on Leah's home in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire.

Both tried to flee out the back door.

Police went on to find more than £20,000 of high purity cocaine and £1450 of heroin.

They also searched a flat in Glasgow's Dennistoun.

A rucksack had £20,000 of heroin inside.

A further £8,800 of the drug was found elsewhere in the flat.

Prosecutor Owen Mullen said told the High Court in Glasgow: "This was recovered from under Christmas presents in a bedroom."

Cash and £3,300 of cocaine were also seized from there.

The final raid at a house in the city's Parkhead uncovered the largest haul.

A total of £266,000 of cocaine as well £26,000 of heroin was discovered.

Stewart – a barman from the city's Castlemilk - was today/yesterday jailed for six years.

He pled guilty to being concerned in the supply of the drugs at all three addresses.

Mechanic Leah was jailed was locked up for three years after he admitted to being involved on a single day at his home in Motherwell.

Lord Arthurson told them: "The gravity of these offences plainly requires substantial custodial disposals."
