A Glasgow woman campaigning to change the law to have all workplaces keep an emergency inhaler is pleading with people not to forget to carry their own during hay fever season.

Elaine Cunningham lost 19-year-old Lauren back in 2020 when she suffered an asthma attack at work leaving her on life support for four days.

Lauren was just 19 years old when she suffered a fatal asthma attack.

She told Clyde 1: "Not only does the heat affect your lungs, the pollen does too.

"I believe spreading this awareness could help to save lives because people might think their asthma is under control, but attacks are more common when the pollen count is high at this time of year."

Lauren had been working in a bar when her condition flared up and Elaine later had to make the heartbreaking decision to turn her life support off.

She started Lauren's Law after coming up with the idea at her daughter's funeral and now has the backing of several high profile charities.

"This is the difference between life and death - it's as simple as that.

"If Lauren's Law is passed then there would be a reliever inhaler in first aid kits for people who accidentally forget their own.

"Lauren was quite a shy girl and it could sometimes take a while for people to see her quirky side.

"She would be so embarrassed by all of this, but also very proud that we are fighting to make a positive change."
