A Glasgow man convicted of raping a sleeping woman has been jailed for five years.

Eddy Mohamed was found guilty of taking off his victim's clothes and raping her at a house in East Kilbride on May 23, 2015, while she slept.

The High Court in Glasgow heard that when the woman woke up and told him to stop Mohamed carried on.

He was also convicted of pulling down another woman's jeans with intent to rape her at a house in Glasgow on April 26, 2015.

Judge Lady Rae told Mohamed: “It is very unfortunate that someone of your age is facing such serious charges. In view of the fact you have not previously offended I will limit the sentence as far as I can.”

Defence counsel Paul Nelson said: “Mr Mohamed continues to deny the offences.”
