A knife thug who was pushing a child in a pram and tried to attack a delivery driver in Glasgow has been jailed for two years.
Robert Duncan, 26, was pushing the tot when he walked onto the road when James Morrin tried to U-turn his Asda van on a street in Glasgow's Govan area.
The lout shouted and swore at the driver before opening the door of the van and waving a knife, threatening to “slash his throat”.
Duncan again brandished the weapon at the driver’s window when Mr Morrin parked further down the street.
He pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to assaulting Mr Morrin on December 21, last year at Craigton Road.
Duncan also admitted behaving in a threatening and abusive manner, challenging police and make abusive remarks.
Sheriff Daniel Scullion jailed Duncan for two years for his crimes.
The court heard around 2pm Mr Morrin was working as a delivery driver for Asda and did a U-turn in the road.
Procurator fiscal depute Martin Peters said Duncan walked on to the road without paying attention to the van.
He said: “Mr Morrin had to brake to prevent hitting the accused or the pram.
“The accused then noticed Mr Morrin, began to shout and swear at Mr Morrin, the accused appeared to be under the influence of some unknown substance.
“The accused then opened the driver’s side of Mr Morrin’s delivery van and continued to shout and swear whilst brandishing a knife in his face, attempting to cause injury.”
Mr Morrin leaned back so he wasn’t hit with the blade and Duncan threatened “I will slash your f** throat.”
The deliver driver drove off down the road but saw Duncan stopping with the pram and brandishing the knife at the window again.
The police were contacted and officers saw Duncan a short time later having taken the child somewhere.
They detained him and didn't find any blades on him but found the knife matching its description where they saw him leaning down on the street.
