A 32-year-old man has denied murdering his father by repeatedly striking him on the the body with two knives on Glasgow's Parnie Street
A 32-year-old man has denied murdering his father by repeatedly striking him on the the body with two knives.
Robert Montgomery is accused of killing his father 56-year-old Allan Montgomery on or between July 31 and August 4 in a flat in Parnie Street, Glasgow, and failing to obtain medical assistance for him. His father died on August 4.
Montgomery is also charged with attempting to defeat the ends of justice by giving false information to police, an emergency call operator and paramedics.
He denies the charges against him.
Today at the High Court in Glasgow, Montgomery, who is represented by defence QC Ian Duguid, lodged a special defence of self defence.
Judge Lord Turnbull set the trial date for April 4, next year at the High Court at Lanark.
The trial is expected to last six days.
