A thug is facing further time behind bars for being concerned in the supply of £80,000 of drugs.

Nathan Mortimer’s fingerprints were found on 50kg of cannabis resin in bags for life, when police raided a car.

The 22-year-old is already in jail after driving his Mercedes at a 14-year-old Motherwell fan in July 2017, to the danger of his life near Hampden Park.

He was sentenced to 18 months in October 2018.

Days later Hamburg fans unfurled a banner with “Stay Strong Nathan” with HSV and RFC also on it, when they played Bochum.

On Remembrance Sunday, Rangers fans displayed support with a banner with "Motherwell grasses" on it, when they played the away team.

Mortimer was arrested in April 2018 after his fingerprints were found on bags for life with cannabis resin in them, in the boot of a car at Great Western Road.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court, Mortimer, from the city’s east end, pled guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis resin at the Great Western Road flat on December 18, 2015.

The court heard the National Crime Agency (NCA) reported cannabis resin being imported from Spain to Glasgow, via Germany.

Procurator fiscal depute Adele Macdonald said: "The address for one of the consignments was 4/4 2251 Great Western Road, Glasgow.

"When officers attended the address, a set of car keys was found hidden within a vacuum cleaner, the car was traced outside the address.

"On December 18, 2015 at 4.30pm the car was searched by officers and cannabis within bags for life was found within the boot area."

The court heart in total 112kg of cannabis resin was found and the packages were analysed for fingerprints.

Miss Macdonald added: "In June 2016, fingerprints of four individuals including Mortimer were identified."

His prints were on a number of packages including three Lidl and a Morrison’s bag for life all with various resinous bars and blocks in them.

The prosecutor said the weight of the drugs Mortimer’s prints were on is around 50kg which is worth £50,000 wholesale, and £80,000 retail.

She continued: "On April 25, 2018 at 6.54am, Mortimer was arrested by PCs from the National Crime Agency on the public highway in front of his address."

Defence lawyer Emma Crilley said: "He was young and foolish and he’s sorry."

Sheriff Daniel Scullion deferred sentence for reports until a later date.

Mortimer drove his car at a 14-year-old Motherwell fan at Bolton Drive as he made his way to Mount Florida Station following a game against Queen’s Park.

A witness, who watched from a window, estimated Mortimer was driving a 30mph at the point of impact.

Mortimer then sped off from the scene.
