Glasgow lawyer demands Celtic accepts connection between football club and boys club in 70s and 80s
It's after a judge ruled former boys club manager Frank Cairney indecently assaulted three players while on duty.
A top Glasgow lawyer is demanding Celtic acknowledges that there was a connection between the football club and the boys club in the 1970s and 80s.
Yesterday, Sheriff Tom Hughes ruled that former boys club manager Frank Cairney indecently assaulted three players while on duty.
Laura Connor is representing all three of the victims and told Clyde 1: "The evidence that Celtic Football Club had control over Celtic Boys club is increasing and we heard further evidence of this through the criminal trial.
"The longer this goes on, the more significant the impact all of this is on the victims.
"We continue to urge Celtic to do the right thing - we want them to meet with us and settle these cases."
Thompsons Solicitors currently has a group "class action" lawsuit against Celtic in connection with historical child abuse.
It follows the criminal convictions of Celtic Boys Club founder Jim Torbett and former youth coaches Frank Cairney and Jim McCafferty on sexual abuse charges.
Laura added: "The action has been ongoing for some time now and the evidence is stacking up in favour of our clients and we hope to be pushing towards a court hearing this year."
We've asked Celtic for a response.
