A restricted patient who absconded while on leave in Glasgow has handed himself in to police.
Owen Bonner, 47, vanished yesterday in the city centre. He had been on escorted leave from the Rowanbank Clinic in the city.
Bonner held two women hostage in Coatbridge in 1994 and was later sent to Carstairs Hospital.
Members of the public were warned not to approach him and he has now returned to custody.
A Scottish Government spokesman said: Owen Bonner, a restricted patient, has voluntarily returned and is in police custody before being returned to a secure establishment.''
The Rowanbank Clinic is a medium-secure care centre in the grounds of Stobhill Hospital, Springburn.
