Volunteers at Homeless Project Scotland giving rough sleepers on the streets of Glasgow a shelter at night are looking for donations pillows and duvets to keep the service running.

The charity, based on Glassford Street, aims to support struggling families and the less fortunate across the city and is putting out a plea for donations.

Boss Colin McInnes told Clyde 1: "People coming into our shelter are going through a difficult time because they have no home.

"If we can give them a comfortable pillow to lay their head on then it's very important."

With the cold snap set to continue, the volunteers are looking for at least 68 new pillows.

He added: "Hotel guests would pay more than £100 a night to sleep with a comfy pillow and with £30, we could buy a pack of four.

"It's a constant battle to keep the night shelter open and give people who're in need a decent place to stay."
