Cyclist in hospital after early an morning crash on busy Glasgow road
There were long tailbacks on a key commuter route on the south side
A cyclist is being treated in hospital after being knocked off their bike in an early morning collision at a busy junction on the south side of Glasgow.
Police were called to the junction of Aitkenhead Road and Calder Street at 6.40 today (Tuesday 20th February).
The collision involved a car and a bike, with witnesses telling Clyde 1 News they saw the bike wedged beneath the front wheels of the car.
A statement from Police Scotland says a man was taken for treatment at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, but their age has not been released.
The investigation at the scene caused long traffic jams during the morning rush hour.
