A man was taken to hospital after falling from scaffolding on a city centre lane this morning.

Six ambulance service vehicles as well as police cars and fire engines were at the scene on Wellington Street for around two hours.

The man didn't suffer serious injuries but a large response was needed because the victim landed in an area that was tough to reach.

Wellington Street was closed between St Vincent Street and Bothwell Street but the police cordon was lifted at around 10am.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: "Around 7.45am on Tuesday, October 26, officers were called to a report of a man fallen from scaffolding in St Vincent Lane in Glasgow City Centre."
