Glasgow Cathedral to hold service of reflection ahead of Queen's funeral
The public are invited to a service of 'preparation' ahead of Her Majesty's funeral on Monday.
Glasgow Cathedral will host a service this evening to reflect on the life of Queen Elizabeth II on the eve of her state funeral.
The cathedral will hold 'Service of Preparation for the Funeral of Her Majesty' at 7 o'clock on Sunday evening, on the 'extraordinary life' of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Minister of Glasgow Cathedral Reverend Mark Johnstone said: I'm conscious that there's been lots of services this week. However, I think that the kind of the climax for many people will be the funeral service in Monday. And if this was on a personal level, we would be preparing at home for such a service.
"I hope it's an opportunity for folks just to catch breath before they may be engaged with the service on Monday."

"Knowing that it's more of a national event. There was a sense in which to prepare more collectively was going to be of value as well."
"So for those who maybe haven't been able to gather together with other people, I wanted to make that available in and around the Glasgow area, so to that end, the thoughts are that tomorrow evening it's going to be a service of preparation where people get together in the same building and reflect upon what it will mean for them."
"I hope that it's a service that's accessible to lots of people and so folks that are religious will clearly get a lot from it. Those who are less. So I hope that by using poems the poet laureate and such, I hope that that gives multiple entry points for folk

The service will take place at 7pm, and will be available as a live broadcast here.
A National Moment of Reflection to mourn the passing of The Queen will also take place tonight at 8pm.
