A pane of glass has fallen ten floors from the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

It smashed near the front entrance of the building this morning but no one was hurt.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde described the glass pane as an "external decorative panel".

A spokesperson said: "Fortunately no-one was hurt and the area was immediately secured. Facilities staff are on site to assess and repair the damage.

"It is not at this time clear why this happened."
