WATCH: Giffnock school opens to more pupils after Coronavirus
As teachers across the Scotland prepare their classrooms for pupils returning in August, Clyde News is visiting one school in East Renfreshire which is allowing more students to come back from today.
Until now, only children of key workers have been allowed to access the learning hubs, but St Ninian's High School in Giffnock is opening its doors to any vulnerable children needing more assistance during lockdown, and will also have a hub available for primary sevens who will be transitioning into first year after summer.
Head teacher John Docherty says having some of the students back in the building has been beneficial: "It think its fantastic to keep that link between home and school and for those young people to come in here."
"I think it's given them a discipline in their life - up in the morning, uniform, into school, onto their lessons and taking part in a few co-curricular activites."
Mirren Sutherland's just starting second year and she says it's been strange: "When we're at normal school everyone's quite close together so it's harder to keep your distance. Even though there's a lot less people you sometimes forget.
The Scottish Government says there'll be a mix of on-campus learning and home schooling for every other child from August.
