All treats, no tricks: Bishopbriggs takeaway gives free meals to guisers
All they need is a spooky costume and a joke!
A takeaway in Bishopbriggs is giving all the local kids out trick or treating the chance to call in for a free meal this Halloween.
Giannis Fish and Chip Shop, on Auchinairn Road, announced the return of the scheme for the 3rd year on Facebook.
All they need is a spooky costume and a joke to grab the bargain, which is designed to "give back" to the community.
The post on Facebook reads: ""Due to popular demand over the last two years, we are, of course, running our offer of a FREE KIDS MEAL to all kids who come to our shop dressed in their Halloween costumes on Monday and Tuesday, October 30 and 31.
"Come get your free meal on your way to any school or club Halloween discos on Monday, or on Tuesday before you go out guising, or once you are finished. Kids must have an adult with them, but there is no obligation for the adult to buy anything."
'Times are hard for people - we just want to give back'
Owner Vito Simeone told Clyde 1 News: "As the owner of a small local business, I try and give back to the community as much as I can.
"I understand times are hard for people, so I thought the free kids meals would be a great way to get us a bit closer to the community.
"The response has been absolutely fantastic, we're absolutely overwhelmed and we can't thank you all enough for your kind comments.
"This is the third year we've offered this, and over the years we've noticed the uptake steadily increasing.
"We're expecting more kids than ever through the doors this year.
"We just think it's so important for all local businesses to try and give back and help in whatever way they can."
