Gary Tank Commander says he's leaving an "undercover post in North Korea" to join the cast of a Christmas pantomime in Glasgow.

The TV star claims he works as a 'fruitshop-kinda-worker' in the country, and is waiting for a visa so he can return to perform in Jack and the Beanstalk.

Gary's set to play Jack's hapless brother Gary Trot, who sells the family cow for beans.

The extravaganza, which also features entertainers The Dolls, hits the SEC Armadillo on December 16th.

Gary said: "We dinnae start rehearsals for a few weeks because I've been undercover in North Korea, again.

"I work as a fruitshop-kinda-worker out there, but I'm getting oot of that and once my visa comes through to get back to this country, I'll start rehearsals then.

"The show's phenomenal. People can expect Gary, the Dolls, brilliant songs and dances, 3D effects, explosions... Danger, peril, spectaculars, fireworks, a cow - and a beanstalk! How amazing is that?"

The Dolls - made up of Louise McCarthy as Sadie and Gayle Telfer Stevens as Agnes - fully expect working with Gary to be a laugh.

"I've never worked with him before but Gayle has," said Louise, "but going from today I can tell it's going to be an absolute riot."

On his role in the panto, the infamous commander of tanks said: "Gary Trot's amazing. He's clever, really smart. He makes one simple mistake about selling the coo, and everyone starts going radge at him.

"But he saves the day and defeats everyone."
