Girl, 13, and woman, 34, arrested after 'knife disturbance' at Cumbernauld fun fair

Police in Cumbernauld have arrested a woman and child, after an incident allegedly involving a knife at a fun fair.

Officers were called out to the Tryst Road area of the town at 5.30pm on Sunday 11 February 2024.

The pair, a 13-year-old girl and a 34-year-old woman, have now both been arrested and charged in connection, with reports to be sent to the relevant authorities.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called at 5.30pm on Sunday, 11 February, 2024, to a report of a disturbance in the Tryst Road area of Cumbernauld.

“Two females ages 34 and 13 years, were arrested and charged in connection with this incident.

"Reports will be sent to the relevant authorities."
