Four men are set to stand trial after being charged with plotting to kill a man.

46-year old Paul Fleming, 33-year old Christopher Dickson, 38-year old James Aird and 31-year old Sean Henry faced the accusations at the High Court in Glasgow earlier on today.

They allegedly planned with others to murder Allan King between October 2017 and July 2018.

Mr King is said to have been assaulted at an address in Cumbernauld in North Lanarkshire.

It's thought they attacked him with a blade after the group waited for him in a close nearby.

The four face a separate charge of attempting to murder Mr King.

Fleming is also accused of acting in a threatening and abusive manner towards to the man.

This allegedly includes making comments in calls, texts and social media messages to Mr King.

Lawyers for the four pled not guilty to the accusations at a short hearing.

Lord Turnbull set a trial due to begin next March.
