Former Lanarkshire doctor given another jail sentence for sexual offences
Seventy-six year-old Krishna Singh was found guilty of the crimes which took place between 1984 and 2017.
A former North Lanarkshire doctor has been jailed for five years for a string of offences against female patients over 30 years.
Seventy-six year-old Krishna Singh was found guilty of the crimes which took place between 1984 and 2017.
He is already serving a 12 year jail sentence for similar offences and was first jailed in 2022.
This jail term will run concurrently with the one he is already serving.
Detective Chief Inspector Stevie Smith, of the National Rape and Sexual Crime Division, said: "Krishna Singh is now facing the consequences of his appalling and predatory behaviour.
"Singh was a doctor, and in a position of trust, and someone that these women should have been safe with but he violated that trust.
"The victims have shown great strength in coming forward with vital information, making sure he was held accountable for his actions, and ultimately convicted.
"I hope this conviction provides a sense of closure for them and sends a clear message that all reports of sexual abuse, regardless of the passage of time, will be thoroughly investigated by Police Scotland and victims will be supported throughout.”
