Flooding misery for Glasgow and the West
Travel disruption has been caused across Glasgow and the West by high winds and torrential rain, surface water is also causing major issues.
A third consecutive weekend of stormy weather is bringing further flooding misery to already sodden communities.
A Met Office yellow "be aware" warning for wind is in place across much of the country until 10pm on Saturday night, one for snow and ice is in effect north and central Scotland until 9pm.
Travel disruption has been caused across Glasgow and the West by high winds and torrential rain, surface water is also causing major issues.
Football fixtures have been hit too, Saturday's Championship clash between Partick Thistle and Dunfermline has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
It follows the clash between St Mirren and Hearts at the Simple Digital Arena in the town being called off on Friday.
Lochwinnoch in Renfrewshire was also affected by storms, with the local primary school closed.
The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (Sepa) issued flood warnings and alerts for most of the country on Thursday, lasting for two days.
Sepa said: “Prolonged periods of rain are expected over the next 48 hours across western and central Scotland.
“This may result in localised flooding and surface water impacting communities across these areas.”
Two women were also injured in Glasgow after being hit by a falling shop sign.
On Friday emergency services were alerted to an incident on Argyle Street in the city centre at around 3pm
It is understood the sign fell from a Marks & Spencer shopfront.
The two casualties were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.
