Flamingo Land boss hits back at constant misinformation surrounding Balloch proposals
Lomond Banks’ Development Director, Jim Paterson says development has been "weaponised as a political football"
The boss of the proposed Flamingo Land development at Lomond Shores in Balloch has hit back at false information being spread about the resort.
Development Director for Lomond Banks, Jim Paterson, has been giving a more detailed reaction to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park’s recommendation for refusal.

In a statement today, Friday 5th September, he said: “Whilst this absolutely isn’t the end of the road for our application, we can’t help but think the decision by Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park authority this week, to recommend for refusal, has been heavily influenced by the constant misinformation that has been peddled by the various activists, parties and campaign groups.
“We are businesspeople, not politicians, and have deliberately not indulged in this relentless rhetoric for the last two and half years, since we resubmitted our plans. We have stuck to the facts and truth surrounding our proposals, but this development has been weaponised as a political football."
The National Park Authority Board has been advised to refuse the planning application for the £40million theme park near Loch Lomond.

A 188-page report, published by Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park officers on Monday, will be considered by the park's board at a public hearing on Monday 16 September, concluding with a final vote on the application.
But Mr Paterson continued: "“We remain committed to seeing the process through every step of the way. Ahead of the Board site visit and determination hearing on 16th September, all we’re asking is to please see this development for what it actually is and not what it’s been hyped up to be.”
