Five sought following 'serious assault' in Glasgow
Officers are issuing an appeal after a man was attacked by a group of people in the early hours of Saturday morning. The incident happened around 0235 on Saturday 14 May, the 22-year-old man, who was with a 21-year-old woman, was attacked by a group of 5 men and woman in Benthall Street near to Waterside Street, Glasgow. He was taken by ambulance the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is currently being treated for several stab wounds.
Hospital staff describe his condition as stable. The suspects were last seen in Turnlaw Street and are described as: 1) White male, early 20s, 5ft 6, very thin build wearing a dark grey cotton hooded top and matching jogging bottoms.
2) White male, early 20s, 5ft 4, very thin build wearing a dark grey cotton hooded top.
3) White male, 20s but slightly older than the other two, 5ft 6, very thin build wearing a dark cotton tracksuit.
4) White female, early 20s, slim build, dark hair in a messy bun wearing a denim jacket, black leggings and white trainers.
5) White female, early 20s, heavy build, dirty blonde shoulder length hair wearing a dark zipper top. Detective Constable Ashleigh Coghlan at Cathcart CID said: āThis was a very violent attack and what appeared to be a totally unprovoked attack which has left a young man with serious injuries and his female friend traumatised by the incident. āI would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this attack or anyone who saw the five culprits running off afterwards as they may have information that could assist us in identifying those responsible.ā Anyone with information is asked to contact Cathcart CID via telephone number 101 or alternatively information can be passed via CRIMESTOPPERS where anonymity can be maintained.
