Last updated 5th Jan 2018
Five people have made their first public appearance in court where they denied human trafficking charges.
Three men, Vojtech Gombar, 59, Anil Wagle, 36, and Rastislav Adam, 29, were in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court alongside Jana Sandorova, 26, and Sylvia Racov, 41.
It’s alleged that all five, from Govanhill, Glasgow, 'arranged or facilitated' travel to the UK for three named woman as well as others.
Papers from the court claim it was 'with the intention of exerting control over prostitution by said women, and others there or elsewhere'.
They are accused of providing accommodation and facilitating travel within the city 'for the purposes of the provision of sexual services'.
It is claimed the alleged offence was part of serious organised crime.
All five also face a second charge under the Asylum and Immigration Act that they facilitated the travel of the people to the UK 'with intent to exploit'.
Gombar and Wagle also face a charge each of being in possession an extreme pornographic image.
There was a joint motion from the Crown and defence lawyers to continue the case to a further pre-trial hearing.
Sheriff Martin Jones QC adjourned the case until a later date and continued bail.
