Dominic's parents are celebrating the New Year with the first Scottish baby born in 2023.

He was born at 12:06 in the Ayrshire Maternity Unit, weighing six pounds and eight ounces.

Dominic was born to parents Shauna Moodie and Demetri Moffat, from Hurlford.

Coming in a close second was a yet-to-be named boy born in Glasgow's Princess Royal Maternity Hospital.

He was born at 12:11, weighing eight pounds.

Amelia was welcomed by Chloe Jameson and Jack Beckett of Kilmarnock at 1:09 AM, weighing six pounds and five ounces.

May and Myoaung Chit, from Prestwick, welcomed their second child at 3:35 AM.

Adalyn, weighing seven pounds and nine ounces, is a new baby sister for Alexander.

And at 3:38 AM a baby girl weighing seven pounds was welcomed by parents Tehreem and Mohammed from Hurlford.
