Firefighters Tackle Flats Blaze

Fire crews have been tackling a blaze which spread over several floors at a multi-storey block of flats.

The fire broke out at the property in Charles Street in the Royston area of Glasgow at about 5:30pm.

Some residents were evacuated as firefighters brought the blaze under control.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: Officers attended and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were in the process of responding to the fire which had spread over several floors."

All persons that resided on the floors affected have been evacuated and the local authority are assisting in providing a temporary rest centre for the occupiers."

No one has been injured as a result of this incident.''
