Fire tragedy in Partick as OAP found dead
84 year old man dies after fire in flat last night
An 84-year-old man has died following a house fire in Glasgow.
The incident happened at around 5:15pm on Thursday at a house in the Partick area of the city.

A joint investigation between police and fire services is ongoing to establish the cause of the fire.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A man has died following a fire at a house in Partick on Thursday September 15.
"Police and emergency services were called to reports of a fire at a house in Crawford Lane in Partick at around 5:15pm.
"The fire was extinguished and the body of an 84-year-old man was found within.
"An 83-year-old woman was also in the house managed to get out.
"She has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and is being treated for smoke inhalation."
"A joint investigation between police and fire services is ongoing."
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said: "Three Scottish Fire and Rescue crews were sent to the scene and found the fire extinguished prior to arrival.
"There is currently a joint investigation between the fire service and Police Scotland to establish the cause of the fire."
The property is owned by Glasgow Housing Association, there North West Area Director Jackie Morris says: "The thoughts of everyone at GHA are with the family of the elderly couple.
“We’re continuing to work with the fire service and the police as they investigate the cause of the fire.”
A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
