Riverside Museum and Aerial Edge are coming together to host a one-off Fire and Feather Cabaret Showcase on Saturday 15th April.

Guests will be able to explore the award-winning museum after dark, as it is transformed to provide a very different kind of entertainment for a one-off special event.

Set out among the the trams and tricycles will be aerial acts, sword swallowers, fire spinners and contortionists.

There will also be live music on display, with street performances and a vintage hair and make-up salon for guests to explore.

Stewart Thompson, the assistant manager of the Riverside Museum, says it is important they look outside the box when searching for new events.

He said, "Over the past couple of years we've been doing more diverse events like the cabaret night.

"The idea is to get new audiences to Riverside Museum and this is one of the ways we are doing it.

"We bring the lights down and it's a whole different scene when the public are out and we do events".
