Fire crews tackle major blaze in Stirling

They were called to the scene around 6.15pm on Friday night.

Firefighters have tackled a large blaze at a three-storey building in Stirling.

It broke out in flats above shops in Murray Place in Stirling city centre just after 6pm on Friday evening.

A statement on the Forth Valley Police Division Facebook page said: ''Police are in attendance in the centre of Stirling assisting the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service who are dealing with a fire in a three-storey building on Murray Place, (Friday 16th February).

Local road closures are in place at Murray Place, Barnton Street, Kings Street and Friars Street and public are advised to avoid the area for the rest of the evening.''

The building was evacuated and there were no reports of any casualties.
