Fire crews tackle blaze at derelict Ardrossan school
No-one was hurt in the blaze on Tuesday night
Firefighters spent several hours tackling a blaze at a former school building in North Ayrshire.
The alarm was raised at the former Quarriers Seafield School in Ardrossan at around 5.45pm on Tuesday night.
Crews tackled the flames for more than seven hours to bring them under control, before being stood down in the early hours of Wednesday.
No-one was hurt during the blaze.
In a statement, a Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters are tackling a fire at a derelict building in Ardrossan.
"A total of four app mobilised to the scene after the call came in at 5.45pm on Tuesday October 24.
"Crews wearing breathing apparatus used powerful water jets to extinguish the blaze.
"There are no casualties.
"Firefighters will remain on scene until the area is made safe."
